The Festival Where the World’s Finest Documentaries Come together: EIDF, one of the Asia’s prestigious documentary festivals, was launched in 2004 by EBS, Korea’s representative educational broadcasting system. Since 2004, EIDF had focused on documentaries dealing with issues of Asia or produced in Asia. After years, we have extended our focus to a variety of countries from around the world. We select numerous documentaries of diverse perspectives overcoming cultural boundaries and issues on human rights as well. Along with TV showcase of outstanding non-fiction films on EBS TV channel, special events, such as public screenings, forums, masterclass and conference are held during the week of the festival. Besides it, we operate an EIDF fund since 2009 with the collaboration of Broadcasting Content Promotion Foundation to promote the production-base of independent documentaries.
